The little sanderling followed the gull everywhere, poking his beak into the sand whenever
the gull did. They looked to me like Little Brother emulating Big Brother but I expect it was
more a case of the shorter bird taking advantage of the taller bird's wider range of vision
and ability to see good feeding sites.
