THEIR MOTHERS' TEARS
Many died when the Cherokee People made the forced march back to the Southeast from
Oklahoma. Legend has it that the Cherokee Rose sprang up wherever a mother's tear fell for a child
lost during the march. The Cherokee Rose is Georgia's State Flower.
